On a hot summers day Charlton Rovers Blues attended the Southside 6-a-side tournament. The Under 9's tournament was split into two groups of four teams each followed by semi finals and the final.

Group Stage

Southside Tigers 2 Charlton Rovers Blues 0

A very even game saw two goals in the last two minutes steal the points. Unfortunately, the second goal was a result of confusion over a whistle from the next pitch! There were very few chances in the game but Blues put in a good effort.

Abbeymead Yellows 0 Charlton Rovers Blues 0

As with a lot of games throughout the season, Blues dominated and should have won but once again just couldn't score.

Leckhampton Rovers 0 Charlton Rovers Blues 2

Finally Blues found the goal touch with plenty of chances - Joe C slotting coolly home following a great pass from Owen, and Dewi sealing it with a second soon after. Excellent play all round with the defence looking very solid.

Plate semi-final - Charlton Rovers Blues 3 Saracens 0

Blues blitzed the opposition with three fine early goals - a pile-driver from Will, an excellent strike from Ollie and a close-range effort by Ben. Saracens were never in it thanks again to some fine defensive work.

Plate final - Bourton Rovers 0 Charlton Rovers Blues 0 (Bourton won 3-2 on pens)

The curse of the penalty shoot out hit Blues for the first time. Bourton probably slightly shaded the game having three shots to the Blues two, but it was close and once again, sound defence and goalkeeping meant few chances to score for either side.

The penalty shoot out saw Henry make two good saves bu unfortunately his valiant efforts were in vain as Bourton Rovers won on the sixth penalty.
